Video Poker

Before all of you purists start spamming me, I’ll admit: video poker isn’t exactly “real” poker. You’re playing against a machine, not real players with strategies and bluffs. You can’t even play tournaments and Texas Hold’em…wait, you can?

Seriously, thought, I love video poker for what it is: a quick and convenient way to flex my knowledge of poker hands, and a casual game that has more strategy than simple slots. So sue me. I’ve had great fun playing video poker between (or instead of) actual Texas Hold’em tournaments, and I’m not about to stop playing just because some poker snobs don’t like it.

Others must agree with me, because there are plenty of poker sites that also offer a few video poker games on the side. But to get the full variety and experience, you’ll probably need to visit an online casino. I’ve had the most luck with these online casinos that accept US players:

Crazy Slots — over a dozen different video poker games, half of which are multihand games where you can play against numerous virtual “players”. Great environment, too…reminds me of Circus Circus in Las Vegas, without all of those scary clowns.

Slots Galore — no, really, they have a lot of slots. But they also have a lot of everything else, including several video poker tournaments each month (I told you they existed!). Slots Galore is also a great place to play Caribbean Stud, a unique poker game that fascinates me.

Slots Oasis — again, there are plenty of slots. And plenty of video poker (including a relatively rare Stud game). What’s also interesting for us poker players is the variety of ‘Caribbean’ single-player poker games, including a very tempting Hold’em. Definitely one of the top online casinos, and very trustworthy.

Black Diamond Casino — ultra-slick, ultra-chic graphics belie rock-solid online casino games, including some of the best-looking video poker that we’ve ever seen. This is a perfect online casino to compliment your online poker site for the full online gambling experience.

Silver Oak Casino – the highlight of their table games selection is a surprisingly realistic Texas Hold’em Bonus Poker, and the Video Poker section includes the classic Jacks or Better, the intriguing Mystery Bonus Video Poker, and the elusive 7 Stud Video Poker
